NSBE –INTEL Bridge Builders

We are embarking on a new way to “Bridge the Digital Divide” and positively impact our communities. Our NSBE-Intel Bridge Builders will be motivated students and Chapters who will be leading the way in supporting the Clubhouse in Region 6. They will be serving as mentors, project leaders, and support staff to compliment and possibly improve services at these clubhouses.

Bridge Builders will be required to log a minimum of 50 hours at the Clubhouse of their choice between August 15th and Oct. 30 th 2005.

Applications to be a NSBE – INTEL Bridge Builder are available on NSBE Online (NOL). DUE BY AUGUST 3rd 2005.

Bridge Builders will be in two categories.

  • Student Bridge Builders
  • Chapter Bridge Builders

Incentive awards of $900.00 will be awarded to Individual Bridge Builders and $1500.00 to Chapter Bridge Builders.

Other important NSBE Bridge Builders Information

  • You must be a member to apply for this Fellowship
  • Each person must submit their official transcript or letter certifying Cumulative GPA if you are a student to be considered for the Fellowship.
  • Work a minimum of 50 hours between August 15 th and Oct. 30 th. These hours are not including any training hours. Additional hours are highly encouraged.
  • Intel Clubhouses require background checks for mentors.
  • Chapters must be chartered if they would like to participate in the Bridge Builders Fellowship.
  • Bridge Builder Chapters must have a minimum of 4 members each contributing a minimum of 25 hours.
  • Individuals applying at a chapter already involved with Bridge Builders are ineligible.
  • Maximum of two individuals from any one chapter will be awarded.
  • Hours worked in clubhouses must be reported directly to R6 Programs Chair (r6programschair@yahoo.com) by means of a weekly update, any Intel tracking methods as well as to the TORCH website (http://www.nsbe.org/torch/).
  1. Failure to fulfill all hours required by the fellowship will disqualify you/your chapter from the program.
  2. Bridge Builders will be required to provide a display of activities at the clubhouses that will be on display in the FRC 2005 Programs Lounge.
